It is the biggest city within the Nevada State in the United States. It is named “sin city” and claims to the world’s “Entertainment Capital”. The city is located in the middle of Nevada’s southern desert landscape. It has gigantic casino hotels decorated with lavish designs and care to details in order to create a sophisticated and glamorous atmosphere. The casinos within the city walls often have themes and names that evoke mystery, faraway locations and romance.

The city of Las Vegas is a recent arrival compared to other cities in the West Coast. It was established in 1905. Before the city’s renovation and facelift, Las Vegas was merely a settlement located in the heart of the desert. There had been essential events that happened in the last 20 years that made this city what it is today. Some of the influential and memorable events in the history of Las Vegas are listed below.

The Hoover Dam construction is significant. The construction of this dam took place in the year 1928. This brought thousands of people primarily workers into the area.
