When we plan a vacation one of the biggest considerations is always the type of accommodation that is offered. In this day and age there is an incredible array of choices. There are villas, resorts, guesthouses, private homes, RVs, the list is almost endless. Whatever type of holiday you plan you will want to ensure that you do not pay over the odds for the cost of the lodgings.

Ireland has been a popular destination for gay vacations at least since the time of Oscar Wilde, although in those days it was not necessarily a friendly country for the LGBT community. Like Wilde, many people were jailed or sent away for hard labor for what was legally termed “indecency” and, until 1861, acts of sodomy were even punishable by death, but Ireland has come a long way since these dark days, decriminalizing same-sex sexual behavior in 1993 and legalizing civil unions in 2009.

Byron Bay
This seaside town is quite beautiful and situated in Northern New South Wales. It was known by the name of Cavvanbah in the “dream time” period of Australia’s history and still has the essence of Aborigines as it was a place for finding marriage partners, trading goods and congregating to swap stories. It also is a home of some music festivals such as Splendor in the Grass and East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival as well as a superb whale watching destination (the humpback whale’s winter migration being the ultimate!).

It seems with the current economic situation that many people are becoming hesitant to take a vacation, regardless if they need it or not. Cheap holidays in Spain are becoming more prevalent as time goes on. However, if you want to create a memorable vacation for you and your family the expense should be the last thing on your mind.

Many people choose to go walking on their holidays whether that is on one of those Galapagos cruises or one of the big walking holidays people seem to absolutely love it! Are there actually any good reasons why people go on these holidays or are they all a bit mad?
